Job Description:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The incumbent in the position will provide administrative and clerical support to the Director of Human Resources and the HR Department in all HR related functions, such as; Employee Relations, Employment, Training/Development, Health and Safety, among other aspects of the department. Additionally, the incumbent answers non-routine correspondence and assembles highly confidential and sensitive information. Deals with a diverse group external callers and visitors as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload; performs other duties as required.

 

Experience and Skills:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Basic knowledge of Human Resources principles and practices.

Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.

Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.

Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); HR Information Systems (HRIS)

Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.

Possess excellent spelling and grammar; good phone skills; organized; sets priorities; meets deadlines; able to multi-task; carefully proofs own work.

Must have knowledge of use and operation of standard office equipment.

Strong written and verbal communications skills.

Excellent attention to detail. Work well in a team environment.

Accuracy - Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly; Detail Oriented - Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.

Ethical - Ability to demonstrate conduct conforming to a set of values and accepted standards.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Associates Degree in HR Management and a minimum of three (3) years administrative experience and general office practices; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience; Must be bilingual (Spanish/English) and prior experience with HRIS data base.
