Job Description:

Provide status and information regarding importing into the United States (via air, ocean and truck). Provide customer service to internal departments and overseas affiliates/clients. Maintain import data and verify information accuracy. Classify all entries and resolve import problems. Processes all required shipment documentation on a daily basis for Customs and Border Protection clearance before sending trucks to pick up the freights. Maintains all entries in an accurate manner. Create SKU in AIS when necessary. Advise purchasing of missing invoices, incorrect vintages and prices. Double check the HTS to ensure it is the correct one for the product being imported. Ensures that the tax calculations are entered accurately. Coordinate the required documentation with the Traffic Department to ensure the merchandise is accurately picked up from the specified location. Monitors and maintains on a semi-annual basis duty pays to ensure inventory accuracy and overage entry. Prepares entries for overages and duty paid right after the inventories. Establishes and maintain effective methods to ensure the correct quantity of units are recorded to prevent a delay in the process. Monitors the arrival of the ships to assure for the purpose of not having one fall through the cracks. Maintains and log in all purchase orders to ensure they are regularly updated for each Customs entry in JD Edwards. Coordinates the delivery of Customs packages with the courier. Maintaining and resolving the problematic entries (US Customs questions, FDA errors/FDA registration numbers, delayed shipments, missing Manufacture IDs, amendments.) Participating and assisting in the physical inventories when needed. Answering the calls from the steamship lines and airlines; regarding incoming new shipments Performs additional duties when needed.

Experience and Skills:

Transportation — Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits. English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Clerical — Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology. Law and Government — Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process. Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates — Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person. Evaluating Information to Determine Compliance with Standards — Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards. Processing Information — Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.

Experience/Education Required/Sought:

High School Diploma or Equivalency or Associate's Degree (2 year college or technical school) and one year related experience or a combination of experience and education in related field. Bilingual (English/Spanish) and Experience with JD Edwards is a plus.
